Travis Laurent has work experience in various commercial and residential site development design and survey of projects. Travis worked with Mr. Miers, founder of Paul L Miers Engineering, prior to his graduation and has been with the company since it was formed in 2003. He has experience in civil engineering design of streets, drainage, subdivisions, water and wastewater systems, commercial site design. His specialty is hydraulics and hydrology with use of steady state and unsteady state computer models. His engineering computer experience includes working knowledge of Auto-Cad Land Development, Hydraflow Hydrology and Hydraulic programs, XP-Storm, Hec-Ras Steady and Unsteady modeling and LA DOTD Hydrwin.
Travis is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Civil Engineering. While in school he concentrated in the fields of Hydraulics and Hydrology. He served as ASCE Student Chapter President, Vice President and Chi Epsilon Treasurer. Travis was also voted Outstanding Civil Engineering Senior Student by the Louisiana Section of American Society of Civil Engineers.
After Travis graduated from the University, he went back to school to obtain credits to allow him to become a licensed land surveyor from TH Harris Technical College in Opelousas, LA.
Travis is also a commissioned Notary Public for the Parish of Lafayette.
